Order early to ensure you get the turkey of your choice
What type of turkey should I order?
Choose between free-range bronze turkeys reared in meadows and orchards and barn-reared white turkeys reared in open barns. Both are available as:
• whole bone-in turkey, supplied with giblets
• turkey crown - a turkey breast on the bone, with the legs removed
• turkey breast roll - a boned, rolled turkey breast.
How do I calculate how much turkey to order?
The weight of turkey to buy depends upon individual appetite and whether you want leftovers, but the following are general guidelines.
Whole turkey : whole turkeys weigh from 4 kg upwards; allow approximately 1/2 kg (1lb 1oz) of raw meat per serving per person.
Turkey crown : allow approximately 1/3 kg (12 oz) of raw meat per serving per person.
Turkey breast roll : allow approximately 1/4 kg (9 oz) of raw meat per serving per person.
Can I fit the turkey in my oven?
Approximate dimensions for whole turkeys:
a bird up to 6.49 kg = 37cm (L) x 22cm (W) x 20cm (H)
a bird between 6.5 kg and 9.99 kg = 39cm (L) x 30cm (W) x 20cm (H)
a bird of 10 kg and over = 48cm (L) x 32cm (W) x 24cm (H)
How can I get an order form?
You can collect an order form in the Farm Shop or Tea Room, or download a form as described below:
1. hover your mouse over the appropriate order form below
2. If using a PC, right click, if using an Apple Mac, press control and click. Select 'Save image as' and save the jpeg(s) to your system.
3. You can open the file(s) from your system later, print, fill in your details, and hand in to the Farm Shop at your convinience; remember, order early to avoid disapointment.
